On-Demand Mobile Fueling (2016)

Mobile fueling on-demand apps for smart phones is an emerging business that allows users to have gasoline delivered to their parked vehicle.  These apps are becoming popular in major metropolitan areas across California and the rest of the country. The fueling service presents a number of unique challenges and hazards to public safety and the environment.

These mobile fueling operations present unique hazards and challenges in compliance with transportation, environmental and public safety regulations.  The OSFM is forming a Mobile Fueling Task Force, comprised of representatives from state agencies (Air Resources Board, Board of Equalization, California Environmental Protection Agency, California Department of Food and Agriculture, California Highway Patrol, Department of Water Resources), local fire service and law enforcement, and the industry to evaluate if Mobile Fueling is compliant with current California laws and regulations.
