APSA Basic Inspector Training

Assembly Bill (AB) 1130 (Laird, Stats. 2007, Ch. 626) required Unified Program Agencies to implement the California Aboveground Petroleum Storage Act (APSA). APSA requires a Unified Program Agency inspector to complete and pass the initial aboveground storage tank inspector training program to conduct mandated tank facility inspections. This training is limited to Unified Program Agency staff and inspectors.

If you are a Unified Program Agency staff or inspector and interested in registering for the training, email the OSFM ‘CUPA’ Program staff at cupa@fire.ca.gov. Be sure to copy your Supervisor or Manager and include the following information in your email:

  • Name
  • Name of your Unified Program Agency
  • Email address
  • Phone number

Upon registration, an email will be sent with a link to the course and handouts (course downloadable materials). Upon successful completion of the course and passing the exam, you will be able to print and/or save your certificate.
