Technical Rescue Curriculum

Our efforts to save lives and protect property, has steadily transitioned from just fighting fires to technical rescue operations as an essential fire service-related function. From over the side low angle operations, to increasing levels of technical difficulty involving structural collapse, confined spaces and trench rescue operations, today's fire service requires highly specialized and multidiscipline technicians who can effectively work in these high pressure emergencies. The combined efforts of the State Fire Marshal's Office, the California Emergency Management Agency, and scores of subject matter experts were galvanized to produce training programs to meet the on-going training needs of the California Fire Service.
