Situation Summary

UPDATE TO EVACUATION ORDERS IN NEVADA COUNTY (8/9/21 4PM)

Effective Immediately

Residents with passes within the fire perimeter will be allowed back into the evacuated areas at 1pm.

Nevada County will be hosting a re-entry center today Monday, August 9 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Bear River High School, 11130 Magnolia Rd, Grass Valley, CA 95949. Residents will have an opportunity to speak with representatives from the Nevada County Sheriff's Office, Office of Emergency Services, Behavioral Health, and 211 Connecting Point.

The primary purpose of this event is to inform residents of damages to their property and to issue a pass that will allow homeowners to return to their properties in areas still closed to the public. Law Enforcement will be patrolling in the closed areas and checking for entry passes. If residents with fire losses are unable to attend today, the Nevada County Sheriff's Office will be issuing entry passes at the Rood Center, 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, on the 2nd floor Tuesday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Check https://readynevadacounty.org/riverfirerecovery for more information. This event is not a replacement for the Joint Local Assistance Center being planned for later this week in Colfax. Update to Evacuation Orders.

Fire personnel are still active in both Placer and Nevada counties. Please reduce speeds and drive with caution. For additional information on returning home after a wildfire, go to:
