Current Situation

Situation Summary

Fire behavior remained moderated today with short runs aligned with slope and majority of fire flanking and backing downslope into drainages. Moderated conditions allowed for continued tactical firing operations in Division A to have success.

Division A: Fire should hold along the control line on the west with smoldering and isolated pockets of heat still posing a threat. Continued spread to the south towards Grouse Mountain.

Division D: Backing and flanking fire with occasional upslope runs when in alignment. Roll out will continue to be an issue. Fire has potential to continue to spread to the North, though rates of spread within the 2022 Ammon fire are lower compared to areas outside this footprint.

Division L: Fire has spread into the Mosquito Creek Drainage with potential for slope reversal and uphill runs towards Route 6.

Division Z: Fire continues to flank and back down towards Packeka Creek and Grouse Mountain. Uphill runs possible when fire aligns with slope and NW winds. Fire is likely to cross Packeka without suppression action as southward spread continues.
