Current Situation
Situation Summary
CAL FIRE/Butte County Fire Department is at scene of a vegetation fire outside of Oroville, CA. Firefighters continue to strengthen containment and control lines. Firefighters on the line will continue to remain hydrated and ready in the event the fire activity increases.
Weather Update: Hot and dry conditions prevailed across the incident today. Afternoon temperatures climbed into the 96-104 degree range while minimum relative humidity of 18-24% were observed. An EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING remained in effect for the fire. Northerly winds early this morning shifted to a southwest direction 1>y the afternoon with gusts of 10-15 MPH. For tonight, clear skies are expected with overnight low temperatures in the mid 70s to lower 80s. Humidity recovery tonight will be poor while light easterly winds prevail. For Friday through the weekend, even hotter and drier conditions are anticipated with relative humidity dropping into the lower teens. The EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING will remain in effect through the weekend.
