Current Situation
Situation Summary
CAL FIRE:
Good overnight humidity recovery combined with suppression efforts produced minimal fire activities throughout the night which held the fire within containment lines.
Today crews continue to work on suppression repair, mitigating smokes, responding to public service calls and making it safe for repopulations in some areas.
In the northern parts of the fire, crews are working to ensure fire remains within the existing perimeter and control lines by increasing mop-up depth, removing hazardous trees and extinguishing smokes.
High temperatures will rise to the 80s today and minimum relative humidity will lower to around 25% to 35%.
Lassen National Forest:
Slightly lower temperatures and elevated relative humidity recovery overnight lessened potential for fire spread and aided firefighters. Personnel continued tactical patrol and mop-up around the entire Park Fire with no new perimeter growth.
The emphasis for work today is removing hazardous trees along roadways and suppression repair work - particularly along the northern portion of the fire on California state roads 32, 36 and 172.
The short-term forecast calls for continued favorable weather conditions over the next several days, which will aid firefighters in their efforts to increase containment of the fire. Despite improved weather conditions, interior pockets of unburned fuels will continue to produce smoke and smolder, resulting in localized hazy conditions over those areas.
Cal Fire Incident Management Team 4 and the Lassen National Forest remain in unified command to develop and execute collaborative, risk-informed strategies, and tactics for full suppression of the Park Fire.
The #ParkFire has burned 113,744 acres on the Lassen National Forest.
Damage Inspection Teams have completed 100% of their assessments.
Between both counties, there are *641 destroyed structures and *52 damaged structures. *The total number destroyed and damaged includes infrastructure.
