Arson and Bomb Unit
The mission of investigators with the CAL FIRE-Office of the State Fire Marshal Arson and Bomb Unit is to investigate the origin, cause, and circumstances of fires, explosions, and bombings on State of California property and in jurisdictions that do not have investigative resources in order to determine if the fire or explosions are criminal in nature and to bring those responsible to justice. The unit is responsible for conducting fire investigations, collecting and analyzing evidence, and working with local, state, and federal agencies to solve arson and bombing cases and enforce explosives laws within California.
